Early Times of the Revelation

It is believed that Muhammad's wife Khadija was the first to believe the revelation and her husband prophethood. She was soon followed by Muhammad's ten-year-old cousin Ali Ibn Abi Talin, close friend to Abu Bakar and also his adopted son Zaid. Prophet Muhammad actively involved in preaching the revelation message to the people close to him privately.

Three years after this event, Muhammad started preaching the revelations publicly proclaiming that 'God is One' and reveal His message to mankind. At first, he gained a few followers and met with hostility from some Meccan tribes. The biggest threat was from his own uncle Abu Lahab which this incident recorded in the Holy Quran.

In the beginning, Prophet Muhammad had just called everyone in Mecca to Mount Safa, to deliver the message of worshipping One God and associating no partners with him, when suddenly Abu Lahab appeared with his tribe and said to Muhammad "May you be ruined! Is this why you called us here? To waste our valuable time?"

He continued "You may have no sons and no wealth, but I do! And I cannot stand here and listen to your blasphemy against our gods! (idols at Kaaba during that time)"

Abu Lahab then grab a stone and asked his tribesmen to do the same and toss it towards the Prophet. After that day incident, some of the people in Mecca wanted to follow Muhammad because of his good teachings but Abu Lahab told them if you wish to do business in this city, stay away from Muhammad. People were scared and listened to Abu Lahab.

At this point, God revealed the Chapter Masadd which foretold how Abu Lahab would meet his terrible end. It's very eary in the revelation time 6th Chapter from Archangel Gabriel were revealed to Muhammad and mankind.
